The longest post to date.....

Well, I have been very slack at keeping this blog up to date with all my going's on. I hope you all had a great weekend last weekend. Mine was somewhat busy. I had a "Stampin Up" workshop...these are scrapbooking and card making products and they have a lovely range of stamps and card stock. The photo's below are a few of the things which can be made.

One of my friends who came offered to give me her old "Horn" sewing cabinet...and she brought it with her her on Saturday. It is fantastic.....I have had to rearrange things around the house to fit it in.....but I just know I am going to get heaps of use from it!! Thanks Cath and Ross!!! It also frees up my dining room table which rarely sees food on it....only when I have visitors...

and then I babysat my gorgeous niece and nephew...who unfortunately were in bed so we didn't get to play....

...a week later and I finally finish this post.....

Yesterday I took myself off to the Craft and Quilt Fair at "Jeff's Shed"...or the Melbourne Exhibition Centre for those not familiar with the other term (the name of one of our previous premiers who was in power when the "shed" was built). I was a little disappointed...I think a lot of patchwork and fabric suppliers now mainly go to the Australasian Quilt Convention...the craft fairs I guess cater to a much broader group who also like scrapbooking and beading.

Anyway, there were some lovely small journal quilts
on display so I took photos of a few of my favourites.....

after the show I went for a walk along here......

to here.....
and way up here.......

to see this....

and this......

Here if you look carefully you can see the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on the left, Government House in the middle and the Shrine of Remembrance on the right

Recognise this person????

and then back down to earth......

I just love the bees on the facade of the entrance to the Eureka Tower.....yes, I went straight to the top of the world.....

Some interesting facts about Eureka Tower:
  • It is the world's tallest residential tower
  • The Lifts travel at more than 9 metres per second (scary...I know...I was there!!)
  • The glass on the top 10 floors is 24 carat gold plated
  • There are 92 storeys and 3680 stairs (whew!!)
  • The Skydeck is on the 88th floor and is the highest public vantage point in the southern hemisphere
  • The white lines on the facade represent the linear line markings on a surveyors measuring staff
It was such a lovely day to visit this wonderful Melbourne Landmark....I highly recommend a visit...

So after this little adventure I went to the National Gallery and had a wander around there...I had planned to see the Art Deco Exhibition which is on but have decided I'll do that another day....

and to end it all...a photo down the Yarra River towards Southbank

I hope you all have a great weekend doing whatever you love to do....see you again soon.... blessings..
