Thirty years ago today, our family was altered forever with the death of my youngest Brother, Mark.  Mark was on a school camp and on a walk in the bush, one of his classmates fell and he went to assist her and hit his head, and died many hours later, in cold, wet bush, from a brain haemorrhage.  Today I give thanks for the short 15 years my beloved little Brother was with us, for the joy and delight he brought our family and remember him on this day.
Mark is pictured in the short sleeved, pale blue shirt...this is one of the last photos we have of him....
Mark is on the right here with bandaids all over his knees!!

I'm so sorry for the death of Mark, and the loss of all that could have been. Death is so very hard, and its effects are so far reaching. I'm praying for you today, that the grief you still feel will be less, and that because of it your dependence on your Savior will be more. ((((((((Hugs)))))))

Lisa, you don’t know me, but just last Sunday I was hiking in the park where your brother died, and saw the plaque that your family has placed in memory of Mark. It was special for me to see this as I remember well when Mark died. My brother was in year 7 at the same school as Mark (where I also attended the following year). I have never forgotten your family’s tragedy and have always associated that area with you. It was a glorious spring day on Sunday and the National Park was at its best with lot of flowers and new growth. We saw a wombat happily (and noisily) fossicking in the undergrowth, many lizards and a lyrebird. I thought of Mark and your family on Sunday and hope that the years since have been kind to you all.
